we are getting settled

well we are in a two and a half bed one bath house for now. It sure feels good to not be in a hotel anymore. Well the last week we were at a house of a family in the ward here. They had 2 rooms that we stayed in. Joe wasn't there very long so it was a little easier since the room had only a twin bed. when Joe was there we squeesed a double air mattress in the small room.
We were able to get in this house and have half of our stuff in here so far. we have all the beds, table, tv, couch. the bear essentials. I can't find all of the utinsels, knifes, cables for the tv and lots of stuff that are the parts to put things together. I hope to get my stuff out of storage. I need to bug bomb the cellar. I hate cellars. scary spiders that look like crickets, and I saw some fungi that looks like black fingers coming up under the stairs. It sure gets imagination flowing. I have to smile and say its ok, and act calm while my kids are with me. My heart it almost jumping out of my chest. I was trying to figure out what kind of stuff is down there and can't find anything! I don't want to put any food down there if it could make my food toxic.
I know I'm being silly but I will have to go down there if the sirens go off for tornadoes. I will have chairs, water, food, blankets, lights and stuff down there ready.
I like Indiana. The people are nice. I have noticed more men are more aware here. Like opening the door , or taking the cart at the grocery store. in Wyoming, people would watch me struggle to open the door with kids in my hands, or trying to get through a door with a stroller. its just nice not to have to struggle to open the door.
The kids are doing great. they are playing out side everyday. the house has a very nice fenced backyard. I really think the house is great. I know we will enjoy being here for this time. we love and miss all of you.
oh Tyler walked on his own yesterday. He likes to only walk between Joe and I he will go around the kids to get to us. he loves to have everyone clap for him. If we forget.. because he has been walking for 20 min straight he will remind us by clapping for himself. I really think he could have been walking for a while but lacked motivation. he walked five steps the first time between Joe and I. so we backed way up the next pass and he really didn't struggle.
well ill let you know when I know more love ya

We are in Indiana now. Well we left Glenrock on the 15th of April. We have been staying in hotels since then. The first was super8 that was tight, 2 beds and that was pretty much it. Then we had to wait till the 2nd to get approval for the house so we went to a 940 a week hotel 3bed apt. We had to extend again for another 2 wks so I decided to go to Lexington Kentucky to stay with Joe for free. We got word on Friday that we didn't get the house. A relief in a lot of ways. now I just need to find a place to live. We have three states to choose from and work loads for Joe that will be heaviest in Michigan or Kentucky. I know it is the right thing for us to be here, just the place to live... We are both really stressed about that. The town of Columbus where we decided to put an offer on the house, is more expensive than other places, I just don't know. I think Ill keep looking there for now.
The kids are doing well. Adjusting well. Sam was required in school to do her spelling tests in cursive. They don't teach that till 3rd grade and they have 100 math problem timed tests . all 100 in 5 min. she came home telling me she only liked recess and lunch. That is not like her. I think she feels dumb. The teacher is impressed with all she does. Sam is good at school and it has been easy for her and this is challenging, with all life changes, new requirements, and no place to do homework. I know she will do OK. Adam is used to going to school all day. now it's 2 hours. He came home the first day and said what is the point of going to school? I'm not there for very long and we don't do much. They have toys but I think they are for show because no one is aloud to touch them. Is it so when parents come they think we have fun or what?
Johnny is doing well and having fun. Tyler has been sick and hardly eating not good for a picky eater. we are doing well and hoping to find a place soon.

Amber had her baby!

Amber had her baby! I am so excited for her. You will have to read her blog to find out all the details. I am so glad she has another kid. Now my younger kids will have someone on my side to play with when we get together. I know that is not the only reason, I am so happy for them. I decided to write before my kids went to bed... not very smart I hear them screaming downstairs. I better log off.

pine wood derby

Today was a crazy day. I ran around finding papers for the mortgage guy, letting my house get trashed. I am about to go fax the 40 pgs he needs and the real estate agent calls and tells me in a few hours, the appraiser will be coming. Good thing she couldn't see my house at the moment she would have rescheduled. I got all the house picked up, faxed papers, painted pinewood derby cars, called tons of people, gave ideas on the primary act for tomorrow, went to town and got groceries. I don't know about the idea of going to town to get groceries when we are all tired and hungry. Really stupid!! You have seen them, the frustrated mom with all her kids crying and hitting each other. That was the scene you would have seen. I was pretty calm I'd have to admit. (pat on the back).
I looked at a few friends blogs today. Whitney's made me cry. She is just an awesome person. I looked up Amber's also. I can relate in wanting to have a baby in my own time. I guess since she was able to plan 2, having the aggravation of waiting, is really not very long in the short run. They can't stay in there forever.
I looked up the Landins. I tried to email them last night, and I don't have the correct email. They are moving again. I think Kelly is so funny. She came out here last year with her boys and Adam still talks of the boys as best friends. They only saw each other for a day. I love that with kids. They love friends so quickly.
Sammi wrote a story about her best best best friend Ananda. She hasn't seen her in four years? She drew a beautiful picture to go with it. When I get it from the school I'll post it.
Well back to pinewood derby, we made 3 cars. Grandpa Layne cut them, and while the kids were at school, I painted them. We made lemon bars to take. It was 710 and they were still not done. I took them out(they looked like unset Jello), and drove carefully to the church. Good thing we went when we did. They were calling for anyone who didn't have a chance yet. You don't expect church functions to be on time, and definitely10 min into it calling for last runs before the finals! I guess I have to expect something like that from such a small ward. I'm also glad they didn't count on the lemon bars, they were done when the vacuums were broken out.
The kids had tons of fun. Sammi's won her group twice, but didn't pass the heavy weights. Adam and Johnny kept putting their cars on and did that till they took the last piece of the ramp down. Tyler took all of the cars people left on the ground and pushed them all over the floor. Joe just got here! Bye!

Just to warn you I have terrible grammer

OK, you finally got me here. I know it's about time. All the kids are in bed, Joe is still out of town and it's 11:30PM. What am I thinking? I am on the computer not sleeping and morning is fast approaching. I guess that is why I am on the computer, typing away because I finally have some quiet time.
I was running around today getting all the mortgage papers ready. I stress myself in all the tasks to do. As I am typing this I am thinking about the lesson I had in Relief Society on Sunday. (as you may know I have a calling in Primary, so it's a rare occasion to get a RS lesson) We were talking about getting caught up in the stuff, that it is hard to remember to slow down and listen to the promptings that might be trying to get through. I know that that makes the lesson oversimplified, but it works for me.
I guess in all the stress of moving to Indiana in two weeks, I needed the reminder of slow down, and breathe.
I went to my Mom's and Layne's house for Easter. It was wonderful. I visited my Dad, and siblings. It was great to see everyone again. I know at least my siblings wont forget it. I gave them all the flu.
